Meet the Artist

At After the Yes, we believe bridal alterations should be personal, intentional, and rooted in trust. When you walk through our doors, you’re not handed off to a third party or passed between multiple seamstresses. The women you meet, consult with, and trust are the same ones carefully pinning, fitting, and perfecting your gown.

We are owners. We are seamstresses. And we are deeply invested in every bride we serve.

Together, we’ve altered over 4,000 wedding dresses, and each one has been treated with the same care, precision, and respect we would give our own.

Our mission is simple: to bring back the personal touch, build genuine relationships with our brides, and create an experience that feels calm, supportive, and truly customized — not rushed, not transactional, and never based on quotas or numbers.

Meet Joannah

Co-Owner & Lead Seamstress

Sewing is not just Joannah’s career, it’s part of her family’s legacy.

Coming from generations of family members who sew for a living, Joannah grew up surrounded by fabric, patterns, and craftsmanship. With over 10 years of hands-on experience, her skill is rooted in both tradition and real-world expertise. Sewing has always been part of her life, and that deep foundation shows in the care and precision she brings to every gown.

Joannah previously ran her own alterations business for four years before joining forces with Leticia to create After the Yes. Together, they built a space where brides come first not timelines, not quotas, and not production numbers.

Known for her warm presence, patience, and eye for detail, Joannah has a natural way of making brides feel comfortable, heard, and supported throughout the entire process. For her, every gown is personal, and every bride deserves to feel confident and cared for.

Meet Leticia

Co-Owner & Lead Seamstress

Leticia’s love for fashion and design began early. She has been studying fashion design since the age of 14 and went on to receive formal training through fashion design school. Her background brings a technical, design-focused approach to bridal alterations, allowing her to see not just how a dress fits but how it was constructed and how it can be perfected.

With a strong foundation in garment structure, fit, and design integrity, Leticia specializes in creating seamless alterations that enhance the gown while preserving its original beauty. Her work is precise, thoughtful, and always tailored to the bride’s body and vision.

Leticia is deeply passionate about building trust with her brides and creating a calm, reassuring experience. She believes that a wedding dress holds emotion, meaning, and vulnerability and it should always be treated with care, honesty, and respect.

We created After the Yes because we wanted something different for our brides.

We wanted:

  • No hand-offs. No middlemen. No third parties.

  • A space where the owners are the ones doing the work.

  • A business built on relationships, not volume.

  • And an experience that feels intentional, supportive, and personal.

Why we do it this way
